26 days ago, on July 20, 2012, the academic degree fraud committed by Fu Jin, a professor at Xiamen University, was exposed. Xiamen University dismissed Professor Fu in less than a week. (Xiamen Daily, July 26, 2012.)
20 days ago, on July 26, 2012, the resume fraud committed by Lu Jun, a professor at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, was exposed. In less than two days, BUCT expelled Professor Lu Jun. (Beijing Times, July 29, 2012.)
534 days ago, on March 1, 2011, Ms. Liu Juhua’s Master’s degree thesis fraud was exposed on the Internet. 153 days ago, on March 15, 2012, 240 scholars signed the Open Letter asking Liu’s alma mater, the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (GSCASS) to investigate the case. However, no action has been taken by GSCASS so far.

Hasn’t GSCASS announced to the whole world that she wants to become “The training base of the reserve talents for the stronghold of Marxism, the highest academic halls of philosophy and social sciences in China, the think tanks of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China and the State Council of China
As we all know, academic degrees and academic integrity are two of the most important ingredients for the reputation of an academic instititution. And to an academic instititution, there is nothing more important than her reputation. We are deeply puzzled by what GSCASS has been doing, which is nothing but destroying her own reputation. Why?
